The Southward Car Museum in Paraparaumu, founded by Len Southward, has an impressive collection of around 400 cars. Add some automobilia, a range of motorcycles, three airplanes and one can imagine a day will be too short to see it all. The museum is just one hour driving from Wellington.
Two more museums in Germany have been added to the list. The Automuseum Melle near Osnabrück hosts a series of cars and motorcycles which are all ready for a ride. New museums added; the Sommer’s Automobile Museum in Denmark and Karl Ritter’s collection of the Automobilmuseum Stainz in Austria. Information about other museums with Alfas permanently on display, which are not listed on this website yet, is most welcome.
New museum Museo dell’Automobile di San Martino in Rio added. This museum has limited opening hours, but when planned cleverly it can be combined with a visit to the Ferrari Museum in Maranello. Updated the Vigna di Valle aeronautical museum page with nice video which gives a pretty good impression.
The ever growing list of museums now includes museums in Switzerland (Pantheon in Basel, Verkehrshaus in Luzern), South Africa (Franschhoek Motor Museum) and Argentina (Fangio Museum in Balcarce). And there’s still more to come!
Among many other new items Japan has been added to the list with the Toyota Automobile Museum in Nagakute-city.
