New museums added; the Sommer’s Automobile Museum in Denmark and Karl Ritter’s collection of the Automobilmuseum Stainz in Austria. Information about other museums with Alfas permanently on display, which are not listed on this website yet, is most welcome.
New museum Museo dell’Automobile di San Martino in Rio added. This museum has limited opening hours, but when planned cleverly it can be combined with a visit to the Ferrari Museum in Maranello. Updated the Vigna di Valle aeronautical museum page with nice video which gives a pretty good impression.
The ever growing list of museums now includes museums in Switzerland (Pantheon in Basel, Verkehrshaus in Luzern), South Africa (Franschhoek Motor Museum) and Argentina (Fangio Museum in Balcarce). And there’s still more to come!
Among many other new items Japan has been added to the list with the Toyota Automobile Museum in Nagakute-city. The page on Malta has been updated with the Malta Classic Car Museum in Qawra. Another novelty to this site is a proper domain name: http://www.alfaromeomuseums.com. WordPress is great to work with, but I prefer to leave its name out of the url.
Two museums in Spain, the Museo de Historia de la Automoción in Salamanca and the Museo Automovilístico de Málaga, have been added. I have also added contact forms, so visitors of this site can easily send in data from museums as well as events.
More museums are added, more listings by country are completed: France, Germany and Brazil. The sad news is that the museum in Brazil’s capital Brasilia, the Museu Nacional do Automóvel, is currently closed, due to issues with the federal government wanting to turn the building that accomodates the museum into an archive. This was an easy one. For the moment I know only one museum in Russia with Alfa Romeos in its collection. Very nice Alfas I must say! Another novelty on this site is the Events page. More events will be added in future.
Consider it preparing for my Route 66 Alfa trip in June/July 2013, the American museums just had to be added as soon as possible. Will I be able to visit the Blackhawk Museum in Danville? Who knows…
